“Wearing Washington” Welcome Post

Hello Washingtonians, I’m excited to introduce myself as a part of the Hungry Lobbyist Team. I’m here to show you how to dress well while you eat well.

First, in typical Washington fashion we can cut to the basics. WHO are you? WHERE do you work? And HOW did you arrive here?

I’m Lauren and have been a proud Washingtonian since 2012. I live and work on the Hill. By day I work on the House side and by night I’m a yoga-fashion-foodie lady, with style of course. I arrived in Washington by way of the great state of Ohio. While I’m no Southern Belle or fast-talking Northerner, I’ve got that Midwestern charm that will pull you into a football game and eating buckeyes in no time.

It’s an exciting time to be in Washington. The city is constantly growing and changing and there is no better time to showcase the great things DC has to offer.

Now you must be wondering…. What exactly would you say you do here Lauren? That’s a great question! It seems that the city gets a bad reputation for the lack of fashion sense. I’m here to help prove that wrong and for those of you who don’t have great style. I’m here to help.

A few classic pieces are perfect for a crisp fall morning!

I’ll show you what to wear on date night, the best outwear to prepare you for the second Polar Vortex, how to brunch in style, gear up for gala season and find the best place for a mani/pedi or a hot shave. You’ll stay up to date as I let you know where to shop and find those one of a kind pieces that will take you from the conference room to happy hours with one simple change. And gentlemen, I’ll have you covered as well. From bespoke suit makers that will visit your office, to the best grooming products, I’ll keep you in the know from socks to shaves and more.

To get more of a taste of my personal style, be sure to follow me on Instagram (@WearingWashington) and on Twitter (@WearingDC). Don’t know what to wear to an upcoming event? Tweet me and we can work together on making sure your outfit is as powerful as you are. Don’t forget that great outfits can come from Pinterest as well; click here to follow my pins.

I’m excited to start this opportunity and I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy dressing DC!
