Shaw Hotspot The Dabney Names Frank Manganello as Head Bartender

Many long time DC party goers know who Frank Manganello is. He’s the guy who never almost never kicked you out of Pearl Dive, the 14th Street NW popular gathering place for oysters and great happy hours. And then the folks at The Dabney were lucky enough to have Frank behind the bar during their “early years” twisting up some amazing cocktails.

Today, according to his Facebook page, The Dabney has extended the offer to Frank of Head Bartender, and he rightfully accepted.

In a post, Frank (beaming with joy we assume), wrote:

Guys, I did a thing today. After a meeting with ownership and management, I was officially offered the position of Head Bartender at The Dabney. I’m touched that they believe in my development enough to make a commitment to me and my future, and I’m happy to say this means I’ll be with the company for a LONG time! I’m really excited to keep growing, keep learning from the best, and to join this awesome management team. Thank you for the opportunity!

There will be a more formal announcement coming soon, but I couldn’t wait to share the good news!

Cheers to more delicious bites, more awesome sips, and more high fives and hugs!

Oh, and afterwards, I made negroni jello-shots. Seriously.

The Negroni jello-shots are to celebrate #NegroniWeek in DC and 50% of the proceeds will benefit a local charity. According to Facebook, we are sure the Bar Director Tyler, had a hand in the crafting as well.

With Tyler and Frank manning the booze-filled helm of The Dabney, we are happy to add this to a list of reasons we consider this the best restaurant in DC (right now at least)!

Congrats Frank, and cheers to you Dabney and team.

Oh…and here’s Frank with a friend (sorry man, we had to).
