Lamb Jam 2018 came through DC once again and was baaaaaaaaaaaaad-ass (too much?)! HungryLobbyist.com was there as one of the judges and everything was so good, this was a hard decision. The crowds in the main event didn’t miss out! Your ticket got you access to some seriously amazing Chefs, all you can eat plated samples, just like the judges received, of everything from lamb ribs to flat breads and more. Local breweries, specialty cocktails, and Peroni was on deck to provide caviar & beer – what a pairing!
Before we get to the official contestants, Chef Kwame, former Top Chef contestant on Bravo, and manning the helm at one of DC’s hottest new restaurants, Kith and Kin, was in the house slinging some EPIC Caribbean Jerk lamb ribs! If these were in the contest, no doubt we would have defiantly given these a perfect score!
Out of 14 Chefs, the judges voted for their favorite dishes, and so did the crowds. And winners are:

Braised Lamb Shoulder with goat cheese tortellini, pressed roasted lamb belly, grilled ramp purée, lamb jus, lamb fat spring peas, truffles.
Rob Sonderman – Federalist Pig
“Lamb Shoulder Cachapa” – corn griddle cake topped with smoked lamb shoulder, black beans, queso, salsa verde

KN Vinod – Indique
Lamb Shank Bhuna with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, onions, tomatoes, spiced shallot potatoes
Best in Latin
Joseph Hornbeck – Art & Soul
Lamb Chorizo Papusa with black bean purée, curtido, sheeps milk crema
Best in Middle Eastern
Michael Bonk – BLT Steak
Lamb Shawarma with roasted lamb leg, squid ink flatbread, curry ramp relish, ramp yogurt, cucumber, tomato
