José Andrés has done it again and has found yet another way to marry food and social impact. Today he is no longer seen as just as a successful Chef but a Global Humanitarian who cooks incredible food and brings communities together. One of the ways he will be bringing the community together is through Dine n Dash 2018 which will close down 36 of DC’s best restaurants in two different neighborhoods, and open to the Dine n Dashers (which should be you!). The event is on June 6 from 6pm-10pm. Tickets are $150 each, and a limited number of VIP for $400.

You’ll get 5-8 dishes to sample and approximately four drinks at each restaurant – so come hungry!

I went last year and it was by far one of my favorite nights in DC. What topped the whole event was bumping into the mastermind itself Chef José Andrés and the incredible Andrew Zimmern and Ted Allen.

My tips to you are the following:

  1. Take a plus 1 who is fun, enjoys laughing and loves food.
  2. Don’t linger too long at one place. 30 restaurants is quite a large number for one night and trust me you won’t want to miss a single one.
  3. Keep an eye out for José.
  4. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking and standing a lot.
  5. Keep the map with you and mark where you have been (you will be sampling a large number of cocktails).
  6. Of course go hungry, very hungry.

Finally i’ll end with saying this is a perfect event for both singles and couples. It is the perfect fun night for a couple looking to do something different, and for singles because it is so easy to meet people that night (and I guarantee you will be meeting someone who loves food which is a great filter because who wants to be with someone who doesn’t love food? Definitely not me!).
