It’s Friday night – date night – and you have no idea where to go. Well, HungryLobbyist is here to help with some ideas. Espita (located in Shaw) and Succotash (located in Penn Quarter) offer up tasty food and cocktails. The best part? They won’t break the bank. Below, we show you how you can have a great dinner for two for under $100.

Espita

Espita Mezcaleria offers up southern Mexican food and mezcal. We suggest starting with an order of the guacamole to share, then ordering two of their signature tacos. May we suggest the taco al pastor? You and your date can then share one of Espita’s Platos Fuertes, such as the mole de calabaza or the tlayuda con chorizo. Pair your meal with a cocktail or something off the beer list.

Succotash

Succotash brings southern food with a korean twist to Penn Quarter. We suggest you and your date try the chicken & waffles, served with bourbon maple syrup, pickled okra, and aged manchego. For something a little lighter, try the roasted salmon served with a white miso glaze, edamame grtis, and cilantro sauce. To accompany your dinner, try one of Succotash’s signature cocktails, like the Hey Peaches. It’s made with frozen Jim Beam bourbon, peach, iced tea, and lemonade.
