City Winery Celebrates Spring

City Winery, a winery/restaurant/event space in Ivy City, launched their new spring and summer menu last week. Not only can you try some great wines from the City Winery family, but there’s a great restaurant as well! HungryLobbyist got a change to tour the space and enjoy a sampling of new spring and summer menu items, and of course some wine. Seafood features heavily on the menu, due in part to the fact that their neighbor is a fish market. Following an appetizer of warm marinated olives, we enjoyed some crispy shrimp, grilled ahi tuna, and smoked pork belly. For dessert, we were served a grown-up take on strawberry shortcake. Easily, my favorite menu item of the night was crispy shrimp with roasted corn salad and tarragon remoulade. I’d definitely go back for that and a nice glass of sauvignon blanc. Stay tuned – City Winery will soon be releasing their first bottles that have been produced right here in DC!

One thing really stood out about City Winery – their space is huge! While we were there for dinner, there were THREE SEPARATE EVENTS going on. Check out their website to see what concerts and shows are coming up! If you’re looking for a place to go with a large group to celebrate a birthday (or any other cause for celebration), this fits the bill. And who doesn’t love sitting around with good food, good wine, and good friends?

Starting in May, City Winery will be serving up brunch!
