Brunch Begins at EL BEBE Tacos + Tequila Navy Yard

The new El Bebe location is in the heart of Navy Yard. They have a solid amount of open air seating and hip decor and vibes for a happy hour with co-workers or a boozy brunch with your best b*tches. They most definitely treated us well when we came to check out their signature drinks and eats. Shout out to the manager, Jen who was extremely gracious and helpful! If you haven’t been to this location I would tell you that you’re missing out. The food is delicious, filling, hot and fresh and the drinks are spicy, sweet, cold and addicting.

ÈL BEBE is a tribute to those that work hard and deserve all the tacos and tequila they can handle. This is a judgment-free taco zone and we applaud the grind as well as the unwind. We built this place for those just like us. We’re here for a great atmosphere to connect and appreciate “unwinding” done right. Like everything we create, we started by saying “if we’re going to create Mexican street fare, it’s got to be the best.” Big, bold flavors and authentic preparation with a little of our homegrown flavor thrown in the mix to make it our own.”

“Mezcalita De Pina”- Maximo mezcal, fresh lime juice, agave, cilantro, jalapeno, pineapple.
This little guy packed a big punch of flavor, it was refreshing with a hint of smokey, the perfect brunch cocktail on a hot summer day
“Michelada”- Flying Dog Numero Uno, fresh lime juice, Bebe Michelada rim
This drink is what brunch dreams are made of, so much limey deliciousness and the craft rim was the best compliment!
“Bloody Mary”- Three Olives vodka, house made bloody mary mix, fresh lime juice, Bebe spicy rim
This was a 7/10 bloody mary, and coming from a self proclaimed bloody mary snob, i’d order it again, the ingredients were pretty balanced, nothing was too overpowering which is the key to making a bloody in my book
“Ceviche”- market catch, shrimp, fresh lime juice, serrano peppers, celery, tortilla chips
This was the only thing we ate 100% of (we got a ton of food) but we didn’t let this go to waste. It was easily my favorite dish of the morning, so. much. fresh. lime. the whole dish was dripping in freshness.
“Chips + Salsa”- smoky tomato salsa, tomatillo verde salsa, and pico de gallo
Each one was very different and uniquely tasty. If I had to rank them – tomatillo, pico, smoky but would still order them all 🙂
“Sante Fe Breakfast Skillet”- Roasted bell peppers, caramelized onions, cremini mushrooms, potatoes, chorizo, warm corn tortillas, 2 eggs any style.
Sizzling and cooked to perfection, the perfect breakfast combo with a bold flavor profile
“Carne Asada Burrito”- grilled steak, salsa roja, cilantro lime rice, smoky black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, lime cream, chihuahua cheese
This was HUGE and every bit as decadent it looks! The best part is if this is too daunting to eat, you can order it as a bowl (pictured below)
“Carne Asada Burrito Bowl”
“Breakfast Enchiladas”- cheese enchiladas, salsa roja, shredded romaine, lime cream, cotija, 2 eggs any style
The cheese on the inside was so addicting, I loved this brunch dish!
“Spiced Ground Beef Enchiladas”- seasoned ground beef, chihuahua cheese, red onion, quest, salsa roja.
We loved the breakfast enchilada so much we had to try the dinner one too! The spicy ground beef was extremely flavorful.
“Chorizo Taco” – spicy chorizo, crispy potatoes, radish, chimichurri
What’s brunch without another “side” of chorizo?! I’ve had most of the tacos on their menu and this is in my top 3 favorites!
