Don’t let Asian flavors or perceived difficulty attempt you from trying. This recipe is extremely easy and tastes just like the P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps, without the added depression of going to a chain and dealing with crying children and kung pow whatever-the-hell that is supposed to be.
Ingredients:
- White onion
- Mushrooms
- Chicken
- garlic
- Romaine lettuce leafs
The glaze:
- soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- rice wine vinegar 2 tablespoons
- ginger 1 grated nub
- Sriracha 1 tablespoon
- Hoisin sauce 1 tablespoon
- sesame oil 4 drops
- scallions (green onions) to taste
Heat a large pan to medium-high heat. Dice into even pieces the onion, mushrooms, and chicken.
Add to the pan with a small amount of sesame oil and cook until the chicken is cooked through stirring in minced garlic halfway through.
Combine all of the ingredients for the glaze into a separate bowl. Stir until fully mixed.
Next add the glaze, lower the heat, and toss until fully coated.
For the dipping sauce, we suggest a sweet and heat combination. We used a combination of Sriracha, soy, hoisin, cilantro, and scallions with a drop of sesame oil.
Add a few spoon fulls of the hot glazed mixture to your lettuce leaf, wrap, dip, enjoy!
Great recipe. Love the dish. The chain- not so much.
