Taylor Gourmet's SP Double Stack is Burger Poetry

O Burger! My Burger! The time has finally come,

The cheese has melted perfectly, the special sauce is bomb,

But for one week, more time I’d seek, the feast ahead’s exciting,

First bite’s a rush while lettuce drops, two patties, onions, smiling;

But O heart! heart! heart!

O the dripping burger juice,

Then on my plate, my burger’s gone,

Back soon; number deuce.

Few things in recent memory have inspired me poetically. Taylor Gourmet‘s SP Double Stack is one of those things. I was a big Taylor fan even before they decided to put a burger on the menu. It’s across from my office; I can order online and skip the pedestrian line; their menu changes seasonally; and their sammies are damn tasty. But this burger takes it to another level. They’re perfectly griddling two patties, topping them with expertly-melted American cheese, shredded lettuce, onions, and “special sauce.” If you took a Shackburger and mated it with Salt Line‘s Smash Burger, you would have Taylor’s SP Double Stack. And with a $7.99 price tag, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal. What’s the catch, you ask? It’s only available this week – through Sunday. When we showed up at noon today, we were told they only had “a few” burgers left. So get there early. Or wait until the weekend and hit up a downtown location that won’t be jammed with the weekday work crowd. Oh and you get one of these free commemorative stickers with your order.
