ATTENTION ALL DMV DINERS. Beloved burger behemoth Shake Shack just announced its collaboration with Chef Erik Bruner-Yang. As the mastermind behind Maketto’s Taiwanese Fried Chicken, it’s no surprise Bruner-Yang’s take on the popular Chick’n Shack comes with a delicious Asian twist.
Behold, the Crispy Peking Chicken Sandwich.
Lovers of the Chick’n Shack will recognize the potato bun, crispy buttermilk-marinated fried chicken and pickles. Thanks to Bruner-Yang, Maketto’s magical hoisin sauce, cucumbers and scallions are added to this special sammy.
The chicken is, of course, perfectly crisp, and pairs well with the sweet and salty hoisin sauce, which is also gloriously absorbed into the potato bun. The cucumbers and pickles add even more crunch and tang, creating a kung-fu fight of flavors in your mouth (and I mean that in the BEST way). Even better? This delicious collaboration is only $6.49.
HungryLobbyist.com enjoyed a tasting at Shake Shack’s F Street location, but the Peking Crispy Chicken Sandwich is available at all DMV locations, including those in Tyson’s Corner and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
