When you step inside Quarter + Glory, just off DC’s popular U Street and 14th Street corridor, you’re greeted with warm hardwood floors covering a open and spacious area bordered by a long bar. Behind the bar you’ll notice the hundreds of bottles of anything you could ever want – bourbon, whiskey, gin, vodka, scotch, rum, tequila, and everything beyond and in-between.
The craft cocktails, which are often featured on their great happy hour menu, are not the only items that stand out. The food is seriously good. Think of exactly what you want when you’re starting to feel you’re third drink, or when you’ve had a long day and you want something comforting, filling, and delicious to go with your beer. Cheesy, gooey grilled cheese with red pepper infused honey; traditional Southern deviled eggs, just like mom used to make; the simplest crudite dish with fresh crunchy vegetables and Green Goddess dressing that’s healthy enough you don’t feel the slightest bit of guilt as you devour one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in town. Yup, Quarter + Glory is worth every cent.
First, let’s take a look at the cocktails. What may be the best happy hour in DC, lasting from 4:30pm-8:00pm, you can get cocktails ($7-$9), wine ($5-$7), and of course the classic boilermakers (a beer and a shot).
Pair any one of these drinks with something to nibble on and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect evening at Quarter + Glory. Here’s some of what we loved.
