With the intense summer heat and the feeling of independence in the air, it left us craving an American classic: a burger and french fries. On a scorching July afternoon in DC, we knew that we had to join Johnny Rockets to help them celebrate their updated look and menu at the Georgetown location.
We walked into the classic American burger joint to smiling faces and amazing service, from the second we walked in the door. However, if you’re expecting the 50s style booths and a jukebox playing in the corner-think again. Johnny Rockets Georgetown has a fresh new look that would fit into today’s day and age rather than that of seventy years ago. “We want to bring the restaurant into a new era while still having a strong respect to where we came from” said Joel Bulger, the chief marketing officer for the restaurant.
The restaurant has modern tables and chairs that can be pushed together to accommodate large crowds, unlike the old booth tables that could not be moved. Although, if you were a fan of the bar top, you’re in luck, the restaurant has an incredible bar top that surrounds the kitchen, where you can watch your fresh made-to-order burgers being cooked.
If you have an appreciation for quality food, Johnny Rockets is the place for you. These are some top of the line, gourmet burgers folks. The beef comes from small farms and is fresh, never frozen. The buns, from an Italian bakery, which is obvious the second you bite into them. Everything from the food to the service is authentic, and it is a place you’ll be sure to enjoy- here’s some reasons why:
What To Try:
After tasting Johnny Rockets new menu we are sure to be back soon. To help you navigate the menu I am going to give you a quick overview of what we tasted. First, If you are a tater tot lover, like myself your mouth will water over these cheese covered tots. I chose to get them without bacon and focus on the cheese but if bacon is your style I say go for it.
Next we tasted the original burger topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese all inside of a bun from an italian bakery. Let me start by saying this bun was amazing. After the first bite I was able to notice a difference between this bun and any other burger places. It had a thick dough like consistency that melted in my mouth with each bite. Hand cut and toasted in house makes the difference with these buns.
Johnny Rockets new menu is on point. If you are in Georgetown looking for a great burger, refreshing shake and A+ service head on over to Johnny Rockets on M Street.
