Honeygrow, a heathy fast casual concept with locations in Chinatown, Reston, and Pentagon City, was founded by Justin Rosenberg in Philadelphia in 2012. With everything from the whipped cream to the salad dressings and sauces being made on site, honeygrow prides itself on good, honest food.
Each beautifully designed store lets customers personalize salads, stir-fries, and guilt-free dessert called “honeybar,” via touch screen ordering stations. The imagery on the screens and throughout the store is a treat. It’s locally sourced, visceral, and fun (check out their Instagram wheel for free stuff!)

Everything on the summer menu was fresh and light – exactly what you’re in the mood for after a long humid day here in the swamp. The seasonal salad offered a nice kick thanks to the spicy cashews. The amount of crab that topped my well-balanced stir fry was more than generous. And guys…the honeybar was everything. I’ve never had something quite like it, despite its simplicity, it was very well executed. The hand whipped lemon whip cream is something I considered just ordering a whole cup of it, it was delicious!
While not a seasonal item, I want to give a shout out to the cold pressed juices. At $5.95 and a 6-week shelf life, these juices were super tasty and one of the better deals I’ve seen in the city! I know where I’ll be stocking up post-workout from now.
