This Saturday, August 6, Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. is hosting the ultimate music, food and arts festival to commemorate its second year in business.
Aptly named Biscuit Jam DC, it’s a full day of activities and food at the Industrious Real Estate Warehouse located at 1900 Kendall Street NE in Ivy city. While listening to local bands such as headliners Jonny Grave and The Bumper Jacksons, you’ll have your choice of the best food trucks in DC – BBQ Bus, Red Hook Lobster, Arepa Zone, and more. To top it off, there will also be live graffiti art featuring artists from One Love Massive’s artist collective.
If you’re looking for something a little more boozy, stop by “Camp I Wanna Whiskey” by Derek Brown’s Southern Efficiency. It’s a pop-up campsite boasting special whiskey cocktails and fun eats like southern style pastrami and kool-aid pickles from Chef Evan Scarlatelli. This beats glamping any day.
But that’s not all. Ivy City Smokehouse will be shucking dollar oysters and offering a full bar with cocktails from Ivy City’s One Eight Distilling and Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Distillery.
For you bikers, ride with BicycleSpace DC from their Adams Morgan location to the festival in Ivy City where there will be plenty of bike racks. Don’t forget to bring your four-legged friend. There’s a pop-up dog park, sponsored by Petco.
Tickets to the festival range from $10 – $125. You can register on Eventbrite or at http://bit.ly/BISCUITJAM.
Biscuit Jam is sponsored by Washington Blade, DC Brau. Lyft, Industrious Real Estate, and Coldwell Banker. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative.
