DCity Smokehouse just celebrated its 1 year anniversary, and I was lucky enough to join them to celebrate. I love me some BBQ, and they pulled out all the stops bringing out all the best to sample: pork Belly, pork spare ribs, chopped pork, brisket smoked overnight for 15 hours, wings are dry rubbed then cooked in the smoker, with sides of hush puppies and brussel sprouts.
After exploring the array of BBQ available, Pit Master Rob came up to tell us all about the food, his favorites, and his BBQ philosophy.
When asked what his regional influence was for his BBQ,
“The good kind” he laughed. “It doesn’t matter where you’re from…as long as it’s the right way. It’s a blend. Brisket is more Texas, the ribs are more St. Louis… hard to classify.”
The staff recommend their sandwiches (some named after the staff themselves), particularly the Brisket Champ Sandwich, and the Torta.
I’m normally more of a brisket girl myself, but the pork belly is what won me over. All the DCity Smokehouse menu is available for delivery at Eat24.com and GrubHub.com
I will definitely be ordering from them in the future, because I’m an American, and the only thing better than BBQ is BBQ delivered to me on my couch.
