Daikaya Izakaya has launched a new lunch menu to spice things up for spring!!!
The new lunch menu will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30AM to 2:00PM, and on Sunday from 11:30AM to 3PM in addition to rotating brunch specials.
Many of the new dishes were directly inspired by Chef Katsuya Fukushima’s recent travels to Japan this past summer and fall. Several of the most popular dishes from the previous lunch menu will remain including the popular Hawaiian Loco Moco Hambagu and Chasu Sisig.
We got a sneak peek of the new offerings and they were DELICIOUS!
In addition to all of the above, you have to try the TACO RICE! Inspired by the large G.I. pressence in Okinawa during the war, this dish combines ground taco beef, salsa, Mexicana, sour cream, and cilantro and is served over rice on a HOT PLATE so it sizzles ever so nicely. You may not find such an item in Japan, but we are so happy that Daikaya has brought it here to D.C. – it’s the defination of comfort food and one you will be dying to dig into for both Taco Tuesdays and Sunday mornings after a long Saturday night.
And the beauty of izakaya dining, is that you can order ALL the things and share it with your whole crew so you don’t miss out on any of the fun.
