BLT Steak Unveils New Bar Menu

For Washingtonians, especially those who work downtown, BLT Steak means one thing – popovers. Warm, buttery, fluffy; they really are the bread of the gods. The constant praise bestowed upon the popovers, however, sometimes overshadows BLT’s other marvelous menu items. That may not be the case for long though thanks to this downtown eatery’s new bar bites.

This week, HungryLobbyist.com joined a host of DC’s top foodies to sample BLT’s new bar menu. Here’s the lowdown:

Kennebec potato chips with spring onion dip. The chips are light and perfectly crispy.

“Sticks & Stones.” One of the best items on this menu, dry aged beef kefta kababs are served on a warm salt brick with blood orange, ramps and dill yogurt.

These Rappahannock oysters had a great flavor and were enjoyed even by attendees with oyster aversions.

BLT’s twist on Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, this dish serves shrimp with aji amarillo, ginger, peanut and lime.

This delicious pressed sammy combines bacon, cress, tomato vinaigrette, dijonnaise and Virginia Colby cheese.

Topped with a delicious combination of oyster mushrooms, pickles, arugula, morbier aoc and steak sauce, BLT’s latest burger is a must-try this summer.

While nibbling on delicious kababs and burgers, the BLT bar team provided a cocktail demonstration, featuring watermelon sashimi.

Not yet on the menu, the Watermelon Fizz is a refreshing combination of bubbly, basil and watermelon sashimi popsicle. We can’t wait to have this one again!
