On October 6, I received an unexpected invite – to be a dining diva with the Bitches Who Brunch. While I’ve admired the bitches from afar, I never thought I’d share a meal with them. Four courses of Central’s award-winning French cuisine, with each dish accompanied by rosé from Château D’Esclans? Oui, s’il vous plaît!
BWB co-founder Cori Sue Morris looked lovely as ever while welcoming some of DC’s top blogging influencers. With only two published posts under my belt, I was thrilled to dine with the likes of Meg Biram, fashionistas like The Fashionably Broke, Diego Downtown and District Sparkle, and entrepreneurial foodies like Jennifer Ngai of Jrink and Kori Wallce of ‘Chups (which I raved about in my first blog post).
As if I wasn’t excited enough by the company, I was floored by every single bite of Central’s dishes – and there were a lot of bites.
Appetizer : Asparagus, Duck Proscuitto and Arugula Salad Paired with Rock Angel rosé:
Intermezzo : Tuna and Lobster Sliders Paired with Les Clans rosé
Entree : Hangar Steak au Poivre and Mashed Potatoes Paired with Garrus rosé
Dessert : Lemon Eggceptional
Awarded as James Beard Foundation’s Best New Restaurant in 2008, Central is a casual, yet sophisticated atmosphere showcasing American cuisine with a French accent. This setting was perfect for BWB & company, as the evening was upscale, yet filled with jovial conversation and opportunities for collaboration. I left feeling inspired from talking to fellow bloggers, full from Chef David Deshaies’ marvelous meal and just the right amount of happy from four glasses of rosé. Merci, Bitches Who Brunch!
