Move over Golden Arches, Sixth Engine brings their MacRib back to DC!

Get ready DC, starting Thursday, May 16th and continuing in it’s porky glory though Memorial Day Weekend, DC hotspot Sixth Engine will bring back their popular “MacRib Sandwish.” Not to be confused with the pre-form molded processed patty served at another food chain, their creation is made from a blend of 100% real smoked pork shoulder and real grounded pork belly used to create a traditional burger-style patty. Thrown on a hot grill and glazed with housemade BBQ sauce, red onions, and pickles, this is surely not to be missed.

Chef Madrid says when asked about this creation, “There is nothing fake about this!” I asked Jeremy Carman, co-owner of Sixth Engine, how this came about and why they brought it back. He says,

The MacRib was created out of curiosity and fun. ┬áChef Madrid wanted to create something real, that tasted as good, if not better than the “other one”. Staff and the neighborhood fell in love with it, so we decided to bring it back!

Certainly glad they did. What are you waiting for!? Oh yeah…Thursday, duh! See you there!
