You Need to Brunch at Woodward Table

Attending the social media influencer brunch at Woodward Table in the heart of DC on a Saturday morning sounded like the perfect thing to do. We were about 10 women who had a real passion for food all on one table. I thought to myself, good luck to the Chef who was about to feed us lovers of food.

Let’s dive into what the Chef of Woodward Table sent out.

First up was a plate of pastries. Sadly for our gluten free readers nothing was on the tasting list for us with these babies. I made myself useful and took some pictures for the happy gluten readers that shows the daily freshly baked pastries with whipped butter, truffle honey and berry jam.

To keep me busy while the others ate those delicious looking pastries, they sent out a simple salad. The salad didn’t blow me away but it did keep me busy. However what did blow me away was their brunch special appetizer: Tomato Watermelon Gazpacho. This was by far the best and most refreshing gazpacho I have had in DC. It will for sure not be my last one (I’ll be back at Woodward Table just for this, yes it was that good).

As I finished my appetizer and sneaked a look at my food neighbor, I saw this stunning plate of smoked salmon. I did not try it so I can not comment on the taste, but the Chef definitely gets credit for such a beautiful morning presentation. The plate has atlantic smoked salmon, tomato, red onion, capers, smoked salmon caviar, whipped cream cheese and everything bagel. Gluten-free toast is available as a substitute.

Next up was the Jumbo Lump Crabcake Benedict. Given eggs benedict is my favorite brunch item, I was naturally excited to test this out. This came with poached farm eggs, spinach, gluten-free toast (englishmuffin for other people), and old bay hollandaise.

The crab they used tasted fresh and was complemented perfectly with the right amount of old bay hollandaise. Big thanks to the Chef for getting it right on this dish, i’ll be back for it!

Overall I left Woodward Table feeling happy and satisfied. I definitely did not know such a hidden gem existed just one block from The White House! They also serve their diverse American menu for lunch and dinner as well as the Woodward Takeout Food, a sprite artisanal alternative for breakfast and lunch. If you are in the neighborhood I would highly recommend checking them out!
