WhatThePho Food Truck

Sometimes sitting down at Tosca or The Palm isn’t always an option. Thank God for the vibrant and always changing DC food truck scene which is perfect for the lobbyist on the run.

For something a bit different, check out What the Pho? food truck. They serve two types of pho – chicken or sliced rib-eye – and summer rolls and a classic Bahn Mi sandwich. The pho is warm, relatively healthy and won’t leave you filling weighed down as you take it to the face in 10 minutes on a park bench before heading to the Hill or your next meeting. Plus, it’s totally customizable. Your pho comes in a large soup container with a lid and includes the broth, noodles (which were not traditional rice noodles, but hey, it’s a freaking truck), and meat. Similar to traditional pho at seated establishments, you receive condiments in a plastic bag – lime, bean sprouts, jalapenos, and Thai basil – as well as to go containers or Hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce (packets of soy available as well).

The broth is really flavorful and perfect for a colder day. Also a great mobile cure if you were over served the night before.
