The hottest trend of this year’s Fashion Week was, without a doubt, funky sunglass frames. Whether they were modern, quirky, kitschy or avant-garde, these fresh frames were EVERYWHERE. Small frames, hues of bold colors and tortoise shell were the big trending looks. These are a few styles that will help you incorporate these super chic shapes into your wardrobe.

Fanny Packs & Top Handles

I never thought I would see the day, but the fanny pack is officially chic. The two biggest bag trends for Fashion Week were the fanny pack and the top handle bag. The fanny pack is a satchel that essentially clips around your waist, although now placing is across your body is also a hot trend. The industry is trying to relabel then “belt bags,” but we know the truth.

The top handle bag has been around forever, but in the last few years it has really made a resurgence. The feminine and structured top handle bag, the modern bucket bag, and quirky shapes are big right now. They are the perfect way to add some interest to your outfit.

Ankle Boots, Sneakers & V-front Heels

The shoes have become the star of the show this season, with new trends that we really have not seen in a long time. V-front heels, modern ankle boots and bulky sneakers are the biggest finds. White has been the most popular color for shoes this season and lots of texture. Another big trend are sock boots and pairing socks with heels.

If you are a big risk taker, I say go for a patent bold ankle boot with a translucent heel, a v-cut chic white heel with socks and a pair of bulky high tops. If you want to ease into these looks, try pointed mule slides, chic muted-tone athletic shoes and two-tone leather ankle boots.

Oversized Coats, Shearling Bombers & Suiting

Despite the mild weather, outerwear was a big accessory for Fashion Week this year.  The three biggest trends were oversized coats, shearling bomber jackets and lots of suiting. To continue what seems to be a resurgence of the 80’s, the 80’s coats are back. Oversized outerwear and shoulder pads are in. Masculine shapes and suiting are super trends, and the bomber jacket is back and furrier than ever.

Color

Colors, colors, everywhere! A common theme at every city’s Fashion Week was lots of color. Whether it was pastels or neons, these hues were on so many fashionistas and runways. Tying color into a look can be as simple as a shoe and sunglasses, or it can be as bold as a coat. My favorite color trends are bright shoes and fur coats. No matter how you do it, try and incorporate a little color into your Fall/Winter wardrobe, to really make a trendy statement.
