The Betsy – Capitol Hill’s Best Rooftop Gin Bar

The Betsy happens to be my all-time favorite roof top and gin bar, all in one! “It is brought to you by Belga Café’s Chef Bart Vandaele and team, Betsy is an intimate, open-air rooftop serving American fare and a cocktail program focused on all things gin. This hidden gem is inspired by the chickens in Chef Bart Vandaele’s backyard, Betsy is the name of his favorite in the flock.”
The menu is filled with shareable small plates using simple, whole and fresh ingredients to make even the simplest of creations taste like nothing you’ve experienced before. The Carrots & Quinoa turned my world upside down, who knew carrots could have that kind of power!?
The beverage menu includes more than 25 types of gin, craft gin cocktails, like Negronis and martinis, and American beers. Many of their cocktails are made with herbs hand-picked from our rooftop garden.
One of The Besty’s most charming qualities is that it’s a true “hidden” gem. In order to find it, head to Belga and follow the chicken feet on the ground around the corner through the rainbow-painted alley, and up the stairs to locate the tucked away summer oasis. You’ll be greeted upon arrival by some of the most friendly bar tenders who will take you on a delicious adventure.
