Crawfish for Cancer: Charity Boil Is Taking Over DC

This epic Crawfish boil is taking over DC. Crawfish for Cancer’s Crawfish Boil returns for the sixth year to DC! The event is taking place on Saturday, April 14 at Pinstripes in Georgetown. The five hour events includes unlimited crawfish, corn and potatoes, an open bar of beer, wine, and signature cocktails, non-stop live music and all proceeds benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).

Here is why you should go:

It’s for a good cause

All proceeds from the event go to support fundraising for multiple myeloma cancer research. Multiple myeloma is a rare form of cancer that affects fewer than 200,000 people a year, also known as Kahler’s disease. Crawfish for Cancer DC raised over $40,000 in the past five years contributing to the organization’s total of $450,000.

It comes from a good place

Crawfish for Cancer was founded by James Crowell in 2008 in honor of his father, who passed away in 2014 after fighting multiple myeloma for several years. The event was started at Williams College by James and his classmates. After graduating, James and his friends continued to support fundraising all over the country in various cities. The event now takes place in 9 cities:

It’s all you can eat, all you can drink, all you can dance

Talk about the best deal in town. FIVE HOURS, of UNLIMITED crawfish, potatoes, sausage and corn. Not to mention, an open bar of beer, wine and signature cocktails. Live music playing all day, lots of food in bellies and a really good time. Last year over 600 people attended the DC Crawfish Boil and this year they are expecting even more!
