Amsterdam Falafelshop coming to 14th Street

Oh, that’s right, Amsterdam Falafelshop is coming to 1830 14th Street NW on March 23rd.

Late-night party goers rejoice, sound the trumpets, and get your gyro on. Just try and behave yourself at 3am okay?

Washington Post has more:

Falafel and frites will become a late-night stop for 14th Street revelers beginning Sunday, when D.C.’s second Amsterdam Falafelshop is scheduled to open. The restaurant takes the place of the former Arts@1830 gallery, at 1830 14th Street NW, and will keep the same extended hours as its Adams Morgan counterpart.

“It’s this quirky space,” said CEO Arianne Bennett, and with 50 seats, it’s a much bigger one, too. “It’s going to be a much more comfortable falafel shop.”

There are a few falafel innovations coming to the new location. As previously reported, it will be the first Amsterdam location to serve curry ketchup and falafel bowls, the latter of which will be priced by weight. Those who want to wash their frites down with some Dutch beer will have to wait until the restaurant’s liquor license is approved. The Adams Morgan location does not serve alcohol.

Amsterdam is franchising rapidly. Last month, the company announced a L’Enfant Plaza location, which is expected to open in five months. Bennett says a fourth D.C. shop is in the works.

Amsterdam Falafelshop, 1830 14th St. NW. Opening March 23. Hours: Sunday-Monday 11 a.m. to midnight, Tuesday-Wednesday 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 a.m.
